How To Look Amazing When You Feel Far From It

Whether it’s lack of sleep, a cold, or a dreaded hangover, there are days when you roll out of bed feeling like crap. And as much as we’d like to, we just can’t build a pillow fort and eat fries while watching Netflix (that’s what the weekends are for!), so if you want to know how to look amazing when you feel from it, you can fake the way you feel with a few clever products.

Trust us, this is the only routine you need when you feel less than fresh!

1. Wake up your face

When I feel tired or ill, the first thing I reach for is a facial spray. It has the same effect as a splash of cold water, but it’s much better for your skin. Herbivore’s face mist is my number one pick at the moment, it’s created with pure plant actives and coconut water which tones, hydrates, and softens skin. It’s the perfect pick-me-up for your complexion when you feel a bit down. Buy it here.

2. Brighten up your complexion

I love, love, love color correcting my skin with one-pump. I don’t have time for multiple color correcting palettes in the morning, but when you’re feeling less than 100% you need to brighten and even out your complexion. Especially if you’re ill. Stila’s One Step Color Correct is my favorite thing at the moment, I use it every day. Not only does it even, it also gives your skin a glow, too. Buy it here.

3. Soothe and brighten your eyes

Whenever we feel less than 100%, it’s our eyes that feel the brunt of it. So the key to looking great even when you feel crap is taking care of your eyes before anything else. You need a cooling, soothing cream that brightens, widens, and opens your eyes. I love Pep-start, it was built exactly for times like this. It might even make you feel better. Buy it here.

4. Use this seriously simple foundation

There’s a reason that Makeup Forever’s stick foundation is a favorite of beauty bloggers and vloggers. That’s because it’s seriously simple (one swipe and your face is done!) while bringing full coverage that isn’t too heavy. I use this foundation on a regular basis, but it’s so perfect for days when you feel bad, it’ll cover anything up and give you a bright glow. Buy it here.

5. Give your eyes some color

After soothing and waking your eyes up, you should line them with a colored liner that gives them a fresh, wide-awake look. I am in love with Charlotte Tilbury’s Color Chameleon collection. Marilyn Monroe relied on a brightening eyeliner to get that sexy but alert look in her makeup. You can even put a dot in the tear duct to really open your eyes up. Every shade is designed with a different eye color in mind, Champagne Diamonds is my favorite. Buy it here.

6. Pimp your sleep routine

Finally, when you’re not feeling 100% you need to know you can get back on track, rest, and let your body repair itself. The Slip Silk Eye Mask is life-changing. It’ll cushion your skin, rest gently on your eyes and lull you into a deep sleep. The best thing about it is that it’ll protect your skin and hair for the best beauty sleep you’ve ever had. Buy it here.
