How To Look Gorgeous In Just 5 Minutes

We all know the struggle of getting ready, especially when you’ve slept through your alarm and just want to make some coffee and get out the door! Visualizing it fills you with a sense of dread: curling or straightening your hair, applying primer, foundation, bronzer, blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner, lipstick, lip-gloss, perfume, and picking the perfect outfit to top it all off; the list of things that many women have in order to get ready seems never-ending! However, there is a way to still look fresh faced, gorgeous, and ready to tackle all of life’s challenges without sacrificing tons of time from your busy morning. Read on for 5 tips and some of our favorite products that will help you to look great in only 5 minutes!

Skip the foundation

Skip the foundation-concealer-bronzer-blush routine and opt for BB or CC cream like Omorovicza Complexion Perfector BB SPF 20 instead. These lightweight, moisturising, often coverage and benefit-packed products are much easier to apply and take a lot less time. If you absolutely want to apply something else, go for a natural blush colour to brighten the cheeks, which will make you look more awake and healthy.

Plan your outfit

Plan your outfits (after checking the weather!) the night before to save time in the morning rush. Although this technically isn’t a ‘look-decent-fast’ tip, it really does make a huge difference! Instead of standing in your closet, thumbing through outfit possibilities for a long stretch of time, you could be eating a healthy breakfast or reading something. Be sure to check the weather so that you avoid the struggle of having to upturn everything you own the next morning in search of mittens!

Multi-purpose products are your best friend! There are some products on the market right now that pack a serious punch in every way. One of my favorite products to use? The Too Faced Champagne Shadow Insurance Primer. This is a great example of a product that simplifies, it replaces having to use a primer and possibly multiple eyeshadow products while providing a beautiful color and long-wearing finish. There are multi-use products for almost every part of your morning routine, such as a moisturizer with built in primer!

Drink water

Drink water. I know this sounds silly, but it’s been proven that water has infinite benefits on health, and the appearance of your skin as well as how energetic you are. It boosts your metabolism, and helps to prevent acne! So take time for a glass while you get ready to take on the world. You won’t regret taking a minute to hydrate!

‘I’ve been shopping all my life and still have nothing to wear!’

Keep it simple

Don’t mess with overcomplicated products. Skip the winged liquid eye liner and bold red lipstick so that you don’t have the stress of trying to be perfect or having to fix it if there’s an error. Stick to the easy-to-use but still gorgeous products, a nice tinted lip balm like Benefit’s Posiebalm Lip Hydrator adds moisture and gloss without being too over the top and just a smudge of Lord & Berry’s Kajal Eyeliner Stick will embolden the eye without risking mess-ups.

For me it works best to plan my outfit and I do it normally for each day :)

I swear by the whole planning the outfit thing. Before I found I would reach too much for the quick comfortable borderline-bummy stuff if I didn’t plan. I feel like I look much more put together on a day-to-day basis than before. Still need work though! Especially hard for 9-5 because I really don’t want to get out of bed to spend time to get ready. It’s weird. If people only see me after work hours they will always see me put together. Before then…it’s debatable haha.
