Make A Date With Your TV! Here Are The Best Shows Returning This Fall

Fall is here. You know all the little reasons to be excited, you’ve looked into the skincare and essentials, you’ve picked the perfect polish to coat your nails in seasonal splendor. However, there’s one thing that makes fall even better than all of those things, the return of our favourite TV shows.

Let’s face it, career girls need a way to relax and escape from the stressors of everyday life, and television programs are one way to do this. Picture the scene, it’s a cold, grey, rainy day. You’ve been out working, taking the world by storm as you do, and you come home to a house as dreary and chilly as the dreaded, but unavoidable, fall rainy season. After kicking off your heels or boots and settling down for the evening, you light your favorite candle. You think about the stressful day you’ve had, and about a billion things you need to do or need to remember for tomorrow, when suddenly, everything is okay: you remember that the new season of your favorite show returns today. You click on the television and all is right in the world!

Below is a list of 6 new and returning shows for this fall season. Check out the ones you haven’t seen before, and get excited for your old favorites returning in all of their glory.

The Walking Dead

Fans from all over the world are ecstatic and apprehensive about what is to come on the new season. For those unfamiliar with the show, it details the life of characters and the obstacles and scares they face during the zombie (or walker) apocalypse. This show is loved and missed by fans every minute it’s not on, whether it is for the characters, the depth and plot twists woven into the storyline, or the intriguing additions (and unfortunately, character deaths) that keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat. Fans and newcomers alike will be anxiously waiting on Sunday evenings starting in a little while.

American Horror Story: Hotel

I suppose you can see all the thrillers and chillers are up first! This is another show that is loved by many. Each season of American Horror Story is not closely related to the previous, so you can watch them separately, in order, together, or out of order. You also could watch this season without watching any of the others. You have to be a fan of the strange and eclectic in order to like this show, but once you start watching, you’ll be hooked. Big-name cast members this season include Lady Gaga, Evan Peters, and more. Tune in starting October 7.

Quantico

Quantico is a mystery-drama-thriller. On ABC, this premiered September 27. This show is amazing! A brand new show is always interesting, and this one had us hooked. It’s about the FBI ‘boot camp’, where recruits are trained and challenged. It’s got a plot twist with someone on the run, terrorism, drama, thriller, and more. Check it out on Sundays!

Finding Carter

If you’re not familiar with Finding Carter, it’s a show about a girl whose world is turned upside down when she finds out that the person she has known as her mother is really her kidnapper. The show catalogues the details of having everything you’ve ever known torn away from you, of being launched into a reality that isn’t anything you imagined, of finding out you’re a twin and have a whole family, and of the normal moral and social challenges of growing up. Fans have patiently waited for the return, and we highly recommend it! This season premieres October 6.

The Vampire Diaries & The Originals

These two closely related shows both premiere their new seasons on the same night (October 8). Going into season 7 and season 3, both of these shows center around vampires and other supernatural, romantic, and dramatic components. This is one of my personal favorite shows. Be sure to tune in or check out prior seasons.

Scandal

Yep, we love Olivia Pope. After the ending of last season, we just couldn’t wait to see what was in store for Olivia and co. If you aren’t familiar with Scandal you should definitely check it out, it follows Olivia, a fixer who sorts out scandals and fixes things for politicians and public figures. She also had an affair with the president, but that’s all we’re saying. Watch it! It started on September 24th and is shown on Sky or ABC depending on your country.

Which fall TV premieres are you looking forward to? Have you already started watching these show? What do you think so far?
