Everyone can get a little bored of work every now and then, especially if your work space is looking a little dull and mundane. But making your office a little more visually appealing is not as difficult as it seems; sometimes a few small changes can really improve your desk, cubicle, home office or whatever your work space might be. Here are a few things you can do to make your office prettier.
Personal touches can really make your office feel a little bit more homely and warm. Popping a couple of photos of you with your family and friends in pretty frames make your office look a little nicer and add a personal touch. If that’s not enough, consider bringing your favourite mug into work with you, or a few little keepsakes from home to display on your desk.
Spice up your gadgets
Adding a fun cover or case to your laptop and phone make ordinary electronics much more fun. You can also try adding keyboard stickers to your computer and using a funky mouse mat. Not only will it make your office look more attractive, it will also make you a little more excited to get the actual work part done.
Add some life
Adding a plant or two to your workspace can really brighten up the area and add some colour. Having a couple of live plants in your office adds a little more life to the area and there are plenty of plants available that do not need much attention; succulents are very popular in offices.
Believe it or not, with the right tools, organising your desk can be so much fun. Pop your pens and pencils into a cute desk organiser and sort your papers into pretty trays and baskets on your desk. You can also use folders and notebooks you like to achieve the same goal, adding colour and style to your desk while minimalising clutter. If you have a drawer or two, place drawer separators inside to keep everything looking neat and tidy.
Decorating does not have to be a large or expensive job, making small changes can transform a space in no time at all. Add some art to your walls, or a notice board to pin photographs or keepsakes. Lamps can add lights and warmth to an office and be a very pretty touch, as can fairy lights; there’s a reason so many Pinterest boards are covered in them. If you want to do something a little more unique, add a patterned cushion or throw to your desk chair or even try sticking wallpaper samples to your previously dull filing cabinets.
