Meryl Streep Wrote A Badass Letter To Every Member Of Congress!

Meryl Streep is such a babe, she constantly proves what it means to be a star, whether it’s being humble, funny, witty and not worried about her age or making empowering speeches on the rights of women.

She recently sent a letter to each member of Congress urging them to continue working towards adding the equal rights amendment into the U.S Constitution. “I am writing to ask you to stand up for equality – for your mother, your daughter, your sister, your wife or yourself – by actively supporting the equal rights amendment,” she writes.

The day after her 66th birthday she packaged up her letters with a copy of Equal Means Equal by Jessica Neuwirth, president of the ERA Coalition, and sent them out to each and every member of congress in a bid to get their support.

That’s dedication to a cause that we can totally get behind, nobody should be discriminated against because of their gender, and as Meryl Streep says in her thoughtful letters to congress, “A whole new generation of women and girls are talking about equality – equal pay, equal protection from sexual assault, equal rights.” Read more here.

    I literally received an email this past week from a CURRENT male university student after I sent the whole class copies of the articles we reviewed in class that read as follows: “Got it spank you very much”
    Such disrespect would never be shown to a male professor. I was aghast and am trying to put together my thoughts in a blog post. #ThisHasGoneOnLongEnough
