After a long, relaxing weekend, you may find waking up on Monday morning difficult. These tips  can help take the sting out of Mondays.

While you wake up take some time for a 15-minute yoga routine. This beginner yoga morning routine will open your hips, stretch your shoulder and lengthen your spine. The result: You’ll walk away feeling centered focused and ready to own the day!

Reduce puffy eyes and take care of your skin. Wash your face and end with a splash of cold water. Apply a great eye serum and a serum for your face. One of our favorite serums is Laura Mercier. A delicious two step serum. When you pump this beautiful little bottle you know you’re going to apply goodness onto your skin another old time favorite is this one from Estee Lauder. While applying your makeup put on some happy music and light a scented candle.

Try to take a few extra minutes to make yourself feel extra pretty for the day…. maybe that means a bit of eyeliner, a cute dress, a spritz of perfume. Feeling confident walking into a Monday goes a long way! And when while we’re getting for work. Let’s start our day with an extra energizing smoothie because we need it  and it’s healthier than coffee. I personally love superfoods especially spirulina which is incredibly good for you. It is loaded with nutrients that can have powerful effects on your body and brain.

Spirulina typically contains over 65% protein, more than any other food including meat and fish. I am taking 3 to 6 grams of spirulina every morning. You can choose to use powder – which is the most powerful way as it’s directly absorbable by your body – and add it to your juices and smoothies. If you don’t juice or blend every day, you can use tablets (I personally find that the taste is too strong to mix spirulina powder with water only). You can change your dosage regarding your levels of energy, activity, and your diet. As you can see, I love spirulina and I really recommend you to give it a try. I am pretty sure you will notice great improvements in your energy in just a few days ;)

While you’re drinking your smoothie create a Monday to-do list. Fill it with easy tasks like “make and drink coffee, twice” as well as unexpected tasks like “walk the long way to lunch”. All of the hardline stuff about emails, deadlines, and commitments will fill in the rest of the madness, but take it easy on yourself. Take it easy today.

When all else fails
Have a donut and scream into a pillow until Monday subsides. Fairly effective though a touch melodramatic. Remember, tomorrow is Tuesday and what a blessing that is! Go easy and be kind to yourself. Have a great week!

  2. Absolutely an essential to a Monday morning & almost every morning for me. Even a five minute of relaxation & meditation can calm the mind and helps to ease the manic Monday feel of reality. :)
