Hands up if you love coffee? I know I do! Most of us can’t even start our days without one, and who can really blame us? It has been our save and grace since we really knew what it was – and I don’t know about you but I don’t function half as well without it! And there is something exciting happening to our coffee in 2018 and it’s going to be a massive trend that you won’t find in Starbucks. Curious? Super Coffee:

So, Pinterest has launched its top trends in 2018 and coffee has made the list. By the end of last year, the site had a 218% increase pins of this new super recipe! That’s very impressive for some coffee, but it’s not just any coffee, oh no! It’s not just about your regular coffee with a teaspoon of sugar anymore, it’s all about mixing your favorite go-to drink with all sorts of things like vanilla, turmeric and coconut sugar (fancy)! The trend is becoming so popular that there are even companies selling this super coffee in a ready-made bottle! But what actually is it?!

It’s your regular coffee but with a twist! People are mixing their coffees with protein powders or superfoods like maca that will enhance your energy, stamina, athletic performance and even memory performance (wow, all of that in one cup of coffee?). Basically, adding anything super and good for you to your morning coffee will make you healthier with little effort!

In the last year, Pinterest has seen searches for “healthy coffee” rise by 218 percent and it’s all to do with powders. People are looking to mix protein powder, or superfoods like maca, into their morning brew as a quicker supplement hit than making a juice or smoothie from scratch before the commute.

What’s the benefit?

Well, this new trend is supposed to be actually good for you! Due to it having antimicrobial properties it will keep your gut clean and healthy by getting rid of all that bad bacteria! It’s even debated that it helps slim your waistline! But, just drinking it alone won’t help you lose any weight, but because it is nutritional and balances your hormones you know you’ll be doing good by your body.


Our verdict

Let’s just say that we won’t stop queuing in line for our favorite coffees in the morning, but we would make our own super coffee each week for the positive effects it has. I mean, who doesn’t want a clean gut? Especially when it’s a huge trend for this year! We live by keeping our bodies healthy to keep our minds healthy, so if super coffee is the way forward we’re not complaining too much!
