6 TV Shows We Can’t Wait To Watch This Spring

It’s official, spring has arrived but if you’re anything like me you’re still clinging to your coats, and not ready to leave those cozy Netflix nights behind! Even though most of us are excited to see a bit of sun again, we’re guilty of sitting in the office and dreaming of our television shows! Why not enjoy it before you’re classed as a hermit and kick your feet up with remote in hand. These new series are sure to be up your alley. Here are a few we are keeping our eyes peeled for!

1. Twin Peaks

This series started almost twenty-seven years ago and is now being awakened twenty-five years after it’s final episode. The interesting part is the fact that this series, is not a remake, but a continuation of what was last seen. It’s been confirmed that eighteen episodes will hit out TV screens show promising everything from suspense to the excitement. A series not to miss and not to disappoint. Stay tuned for the continuation set to appear on Showtime in May!

2. Thirteen Reasons Why

I’m personally holding out to finish the novel first before delving into this new Netflix series but, I may just give and begin watching it very soon! Based on a novel written a decade ago, the series focuses on a high school student, Hannah Baker. Before taking her life she sends a sequence of cassette tapes to another student, Clay Jenson. The tapes explain the thirteen reasons behind her actions. It’s been criticized a little, so you might want to catch a few episodes to find out what everyone’s talking about. It was released the last day of March – make room for this series when you can!

3. American Gods

Based on the novel by Neil Gaiman, it’s sure to keep you on your toes. A conflict between the beliefs of the past idols and modern-day desires. An eight-series must watch! You can catch it on the Starz network this April!

4. The Handmaid’s Tale

This series is based on a novel by Margaret Atwood, focusing on a what happens in a government that uses fertile women to have children for the wealthy. It deters from the book slightly, but as Margaret Atwood helped with the show, you know you’ll be getting a great watch. A thought provoking series for the women of today’s generation, and the generations to come. Catch it on April 26th!

5. Girlboss

We are all lovers of the Nasty Gal’s founder Sophia Amoruso making millions from selling vintage clothing on eBay in her early twenties. The inspirational series for women takes us along the entrepreneurial road and gives a boost of motivation for those in their early twenties, who are still burning the midnight oil. A must-see witty and inspiring show. The new Netflix series begins on April 21st.

6. The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks

It amazes me to see this novel come to life, simply because the true story is significantly fascinating. Henrietta Lacks was an African-American woman, whose cells were used for great medical discoveries. Her cells were able to develop outside of the human body. Her cells continue to live today. The HBO series stars the superb Oprah Winfrey as the daughter of Henrietta Lacks, as she learns the trueness of her mother’s past. Keep a look out for the premiere on April 22nd.

I did the horrible mistake to start watching 13 reasons why at a time when I could not finish it so I can’t wait to spend this long weekend infront of my tv and watch the rest!

Girlboss, the book, have been in my list of books to read since it came out and I can’t wait for the series. A major plus for me is that Britt Robertson that is playing the lead. She’s defiantly one of my favourite actresses at the moment.

13 Reasons Why was very intense. I definitely had to take a break while watching it (not a great binge watch if you’re sensitive like me) but it was really well-done. I think it’s something that everyone in middle/high school should watch as well as any parents of middle/high schoolers. Very realistic depiction of what modern bullying looks like.

Also, I am SO excited for Twin Peaks!
