When skin is pre-anti-aging and post-teenage, we’re left somewhere in the middle of no man’s land otherwise known as The Quarter Life Crisis. Greasy teenage skin is no longer a problem for us and we’re far from ready to even think about anti-wrinkle products. Luckily for us, natural skincare brand Origins has the answer to our #quarterlifecrisis: Original Skin. The Original Skin range is targeted at us twentysomethings, whose main problems are a dull and uneven skin tone with enlarged pores.
The range claims to: de-stress skin, smooth roughness, delete dullness, shrink pores and minimize flaws. It consists of the Retexturizing mask with Rose Clay and the Renewal serum with Willowherb . Intrigued and hopeful, I decided to put Original Skin to the test.
Rose Clay Mask
Origins are the go-to brand for mask products and if you aren’t sure of just how well-loved their products are you only have to search the #MaskMonday hashtag on Instagram to see for yourself. This particular mask enthused with willowherb and rose clay smells incredible! Simply rub on to problem areas, leave on for ten minutes and then begin scrubbing.
After cleansing my skin I applied the mask to my problem areas. I left the mask on until any form of facial movement became a struggle and then proceeded to wash off with damp fingertips. My skin had never felt so smooth, my pores had visibly reduced and my skin was glowing! I was kind enough to let my sister use some and she was just as impressed as me! I tend to use the mask once or twice per week as advised by Origins, or just whenever my skin needs a pick-me-up.
Renewal Serum
Voted Best Serum in the Cosmopolitan Beauty Lab Award 2015, Renewal Serum with Willowherb is to be applied after cleansing and masking. This lightweight serum can be applied quite liberally all over the face avoiding the eye area.
It was easy to apply, extremely lightweight and absorbed quickly. Usually when I wake up in the morning after applying serum or moisturiser my skin feels oily and unclean, but after using the renewal serum my skin felt clean and smooth – so much so that this is now a staple in my skincare regime. I use it every night before bed and every morning before makeup application and I’ve been reaping the benefits. My skin in general feels clearer and much less dull.
These age-specific products from Origins are perfectly suited to millennial skin, just what anyone going through a quarter life crisis needs. So I think a massive thank you is in order to everyone at Origins for thinking of the forgotten generation. Our skin will be ever-thankful.
