Parisian Street Style: A guide to effortless chic

New York, London, Milan, and Tokyo may be some of the most fashionable places in the world. But one city always seems to win the award for most-wanted style—-PARIS, where the people strolling down the avenues mix timeless and trendy pieces in a way that appears effortless. We envy the French women for their ‘je ne sais quoi‘. French fashion icons are recognized for their style all over the world. She’s not overdone in any way. She will go out without fixing her hair, with unpainted nails, and no make-up.

No wonder books like How To Be A Parisian and Paris Street Style are bestsellers.  Paris Street Style is a guide to the effortless chic Parisian style. According to this book, style has very little to do with money. Elegance and originality are qualities that can’t be purchased. If they could be, we’d all go looking for inspiration from the richest people in the world. It’s a lack of money that makes certain people so creative. The trend is mixing and matching.  You can look classy with high street items if you mix it the right way! Things a Parisian fashionista would never, never, never wear are UGG Boots, Moon Boots, Converse after your twenty-sixth year, quilted jackets, jogging clothes in velours and velvet hair grips.

‘The things I most rule out are lip liner and false nails. And cheap, poor quality high heeled shoes. Few things can be worse than that — but on a reflection maybe a stuffed bra under a T-shirt is.’

What you should do as a Parisian fashion lover is:

  • Invest in 8 quality items
  • Don’t under-estimate the power of accessories
  • The little black dress is really essential
  • You can make cheap look classy
  • But, cheap shoes are unforgivable

Aah, I love all of the Parisian style clothes that are coming back for Spring and Summer 2015 and these ideas are brilliant. Reminds me of the Paris street style book I have at home.

In many ways, I am more more offended by the so called generic commenter” than by the more obvious spammer. Why? Because at least the spammer is completely open and honest about their intentions! We can see who they are. The generic commenter is a liar and a charlatan You can probably spot that I have very strong opinions towards this group of idiots
