There’s nothing better than coming back home after a hard day at work to a special scent that welcomes you into your home. The scent of your house is so much more than just a nice smell: it can define a place and sometimes give you a wave of nostalgia.
But what if no matter how hard you are trying, you are finding it hard to fill your home with an aroma with the wow factor? Or what if you are about to have guests over and you want to make sure you house smells divine? This is how to make sure anyone who walks through your door is pleasantly surprised…
1. Clean With Fruits
In case you didn’t know, you can use lemon juice to clean your surfaces! Combine baking soda with lemons and use them to clean your bathrooms in order to remove soap scum and limescale. Not only will you get great results but it will also make your house smell fresh and lemony! Win-win!
2. Think Strategically
Candles can truly do wonders! They are a great, and well-known trick to make your house smell sweet – but to increase their efficiency you need to think strategically and make some clever candle placements. Put them where you would least expect them to be.
3. Bake Something
This is great advice especially if you’re having guests over! If you’re putting on your Masterchef hat and you’re preparing a delicious cake or banana bread, don’t forget to keep the oven open once you’re done with baking. Nothing beats the aroma of a warm, freshly baked chocolate cake. Your guests may expect a slice or two, though!
4. Use Natural Room Diffuser
Like candles, oil room diffusers can be your ultimate BFF! Those cute little jars with bamboo sticks in them come in a great variety of scents: some smell really good whilst others might smell a little weird to you, so make sure to make the right choice. My favorite? The Pomegranate Noir Scent by Jo Malone!
