#1 Beachy waves

Cool-girl beach waves are super easy to achieve at home, and work well with any hairstyle! They can be work up or down, and can be achieved in under five minutes! All you need to do is plait your hair (separate into two sections for thicker or long hair) and then go over the plaits with straighteners a few times. Once the plait has cooled, release your hair and tousle some long-lasting hair spray, to hold your curls, and some salt spray, for texture, through your hair.

#2 Mini plait details

A great way to update your everyday hair look or add a fresh vibe to an updo is to grab a small section of hair and weave a plait through it, secure this section tightly with a hair grip and spray with some spray to hold it in place. This look works best when running through the front of the hair or hanging from the side of a beachy look. To secure your plait without a hair bobble, push a hair grip up through the bottom of the plait and disguise it with strands of hair.

#3 Cutesy ponytail

This is a fab play on the ponytail look and can work for weddings or parties where you don’t want your hair getting in the way of dancing. Achieve this look by creating waves first, then securing a high ponytail with two hair grips to stop it from slipping as the night goes on. Pull the bottom of your hair to get a tighter pony, and release a few sections from the front to get a messy, wavy look.

#4 Easy textured hair

Whatever hair style you have, adding a bit of texture and volume to your look can be the difference between everyday flat hair and a perfect party style. It’s not hard to add texture to your look, you can do it by briefly applying the straighteners to your hair at alternate angles, tousling salt spray through your hair, adding dry shampoo to your roots or colouring in your roots with an eyeshadow similar to your hair colour. Make your own salt spray at home with a cup of hot water, a teaspoon of sea salt, leave in conditioner and coconut oil.

#5 Twisty up-do

While slightly more fiddly, the introduction of hair donuts makes messy buns so much easier to recreate. For this look, all you need is to decide whether you want a high or low bun, grab a hair donut and feed your hair through, covering it completely. If you haven’t got a hair donut available, simply create a high ponytail and separate your hair into two or three sections. Backcomb these sections and then twist around your hair band in alternate directions, pin the hair to your head and flatten with your hand to create a messy look.

These party-perfect looks are so easy to recreate that you won’t have to worry about leaving your hair to the last minute and can rock up with a look that’s completely different to your everyday hairstyle and only took minutes to create!
