Want to know the secret to long eyelashes? It takes more than a great mascara to get luscious lashes that pop! If you’re looking for ways to make your natural lashes longer and tips and tricks for getting a great evening look, look no further. Check out this guide to getting enviable eyelashes you can flutter with pride!
#1 Castor Oil
Castor Oil is a great natural eyelash lengthener, and can also be used in your eyebrows too! Using your finger or a cotton bud, lightly apply the castor oil from the roots to the ends of your eyelashes. You only need one drop to cover each eye!
#2 Massage your lids
It might seem a little strange but gently massaging your eyelids near your eyelashes helps to promote growth. Do this before bedtime every night as part of your night-time routine and you’ll see the benefits.
A mascara primer will help to prepare and condition your lashes before using mascara, but many people don’t know they exist! Apply your primer to clean lashes, follow up by curling your lashes or simply adding your favourite mascara. A few good lash primers are available from Clinique, Blinc and MAC.
There’s no need to be afraid of the eyelash curler, even though it looks a bit like a Medieval torture device, it’s completely painless and makes a huge difference to your lashes. I can’t live without mine because even if I don’t want to wear mascara I can just do a quick curl and rush out of the door. To get a better curl gently heat up your curlers with a hair dryer (not too hot though) and push your lashes upwards after closing the curler.
#5 Find your perfect mascara
The most important thing is to find your personal favourite mascara, check reviews and try out different brands or visit your local beauty counters to find a great mascara that works for you. Avoid mascara that clumps your lashes together and creates a spidery look, to fix this just use a clean mascara want to remove excess product. I keep my old mascara brushes so I can try them out with new mascaras I buy.
#6 Be confident with falsies
Falsies might be the fastest way to beautiful lashes, but they don’t have to be tricky. I opt for natural single lashes and only use five in total, and if you apply with tweezers they are so easy to use and discreet. Simply dip the top in glue and stick along your lash line, use a few (like i do) for a naturally sparce look or use lots for a naturally full look.
