5 Simple Steps To Transition Your Beauty Routine Into Spring

Spring is here, and while you’ve been busy building your spring wardrobe, you might have forgotten about your spring skin care routine. Just like you’re retiring the thick jumpers, you need to retire those thick creams and moisturizers and give your skin a chance to breathe and absorb some UV light.

Ready to upgrade your existing skincare routine? Here are a couple of swaps you need to make.

1. Get a cleanser with vitamin C

Swap your heavier cleanser for something light and detoxifying for spring. I am loving this cleanser at the moment. Not only does it smell divine, it’ll even out your skin tone, and give you a healthy, supple glow after one use. Buy it here.

2. Know what happens to your skin in spring

Temperature changes affect your skin, it’s just a fact of life. Going from the cold outdoors into central heating or a cold office to the hot spring air will cause redness and dry skin. Which means you need to treat your skin every single night. I’ve been using coconut oil every day for twice a day and I can’t get over the results. Partnered with my usual skincare routine, my skin is softer and smoother, but my eyebrows and eyelashes are also benefitting, too. They’re longer and stronger! Buy my favorite here.

3. Use a setting spray with sunscreen

When it gets hot, our makeup tends to move around a bit. To avoid mascara running down your face and foundation sliding down your neck, use a setting spray. I adore Supergoop’s Setting Mist. It keeps your makeup fresh and in place all day while keeping your face protected from the sun! Genius! Buy it here.

4. Let your makeup do some heavy lifting

You can say goodbye to rich creams and exfoliants, spring weather brings with it a milder climate for your skin to get used to. Which means you can cut your skin care routine down considerably. For that extra boost, choose makeup that has skincare benefits built in. This is a BB cream, a CC cream and a tinted moisturizer with built-in SPF, so it’s the perfect no-makeup makeup all-in-one. Buy it here.

5. Use coconut extract in your routine

I’m loving this at the moment. I rub it in my palms and just pat it across my face, it smells amazing and with its coconut extracts and gives a shimmery, highlighting glow underneath your foundation. Buy it here.
