The One Thing Successful People Do On Weekends

Successful People Do On Weekends

I know what you might be thinking, there is no way being lazy can help you be more successful. Honestly, that was my initial thought too. Especially since throughout life we have always been taught that we need to be active and that lounging around in our pajamas is not the best use of our time.

The good news is, sometimes it is best to give ourselves a rest — both mentally and physically. Here’s why you shouldn’t feel guilty if your weekend plans involve catching up on your favorite Netflix shows and staying in one pair of pjs.

1. Sleeping in on the weekends will allow you to catch up on some much-needed sleep.

Often times we are overworked with both early mornings and late nights. From projects that run late or too many tasks that you need to do during the day. Sleeping in gives your body an opportunity to catch up on the sleep you’ve been losing out on.

2. Lowers your blood pressure.

A stressful week can have a negative effect on your blood pressure as well as make you feel anxious or jittery. Spending time relaxing and calming your mind, maybe even practicing some deep breathing exercises, can help lower blood pressure and help you feel calm.

3. Allows you to appreciate the moment.

Being overly busy can cause you to forget and overlook the little things. Take time to smell the roses, literally.

4. Can help improve your workout.

Okay, I know this one seems like a stretch but I promise it isn’t! Being lazy may encourage you to participate in a shorter, but more high intensity, workout. A high-intensity workout gives you a great workout and the time to binge watch your favorite show on Hulu. Not to mention, studies show that high-intensity workouts are better for staying fit and losing weight!

5. Increase your efficiency.

When you are lazing around during the day, you don’t want to waste your time. You want to spend the most time possible chilling out, so those tasks you do have to do will be done in double time. It encourages you to find shortcuts and easier ways to accomplish things. This gives you more time to focus on yourself and the things that you love.

  3. You cannot catch up on missed sleep on the weekend, I’ve heard. Sleeping has 24 hour cycles, once lost, it’s likely that it’s not coming back. But you can get some rest by sleeping, that is probably why people feel refreshed.

  4. i enjoy trying out new recipes and mindfulness exercises, they help me to relax and recharge and are grounding after a long week and at start of new one.
