Successful women know that Friday is just as important as every other day of the week. They don’t let the upcoming weekend phase them and make the most of their Friday, although we all know that a Friday evening can be the best time to make plans with friends and family, but, if you want to be successful you won’t be running towards the door on a Friday, you’ll be making a list of all the things you need to do on Monday morning!

Want to know what kind of mindset you should take on a Friday? Here’s what successful women always do at the end of the week…

1. Get organized

The most successful Career Girls will stick to their routine, even on a Friday when the cocktails are calling their name. The fun will come after work for sure, but they know they have to work for their dreams. Fridays are great for planning out the week ahead. The successful woman will plan out her priorities for the upcoming week, whether it’s to do with their professional or personal life. Take an hour on Friday afternoon to reflect and determine three to five things for your priority list starting Monday. Then spend another hour scheduling your week, what meetings are when and how long they will be. This means when you are drowsy on Monday you have less to think about as you’ve already scheduled it all!

2. Keep in touch with your networks

Since Friday is such a social day, give yourself a little break by easing up on some of the heavier numbers and instead turn to your network. Whether it’s clients you need to remain on good terms with or you just want to keep up a good profile with those you’ve networked with previously. Friday is a perfect day to tune in with everyone. Send a congratulations message for a promotion, or for a documentary they were a part of. Or maybe if you’re part of a team, see where the others are, and how their work is coming along so you can keep track of your work pace. Networking is so vital in this working climate, so make the most of the Friday feeling.

3. Clean up all your files

From a week’s worth of hectic, fast paced office life. People have probably dropped by your desk a lot with files, loose paper, and upcoming projects. You probably ignored all this, focusing on your task at hand. Friday is the perfect day to go through this pile, establishing which pieces need to be looked at and completed first, and which pieces can be binned. Not only will this make your desk look cute again, but it will also probably help to reduce stress- a clean space, a clean mind, right? Use cute desk and paper sorters, and get everything in order.

4. Get started on bigger projects

This may sound strange right? You probably think that Monday is the best day to get started on new big projects but it’s Friday. Everyone is so busy slacking off, no one is going to bother you! Meaning that this day is going give you quality time with your projects knowing you won’t be bothered as much.

5. Get one on one

A study showed that we do thirty-five percent less work on Friday than Monday. Crazy right. So instead of sitting at your desk and pretending to work, why not do something useful that doesn’t actually seem like work? If you’ve advertised a new job opening, conduct the interviews on Friday so you can just sit back and chat about the job. You are doing work, but it’s less strenuous!

6. They leave it all behind

Even the most ambitious of women know to have a break, and that’s what weekends are for! So make sure to give yourself one. I know it’s hard to let go of work, it can feel like it’s looming over you and you can’t think straight until it’s done. But overworking yourself means you’re more likely to produce poor content. When it reaches the end of the day. Stop. Go out with office mates and dine, drink and dish the dirt!
