The Best Hair Masks For Damaged Hair

The weekend is the perfect time to take a break and  try out a new hair mask. We’ve made a selection of our personal favourite hair treatments out there for dry, damaged and coloured hair.

For dry & damaged hair: Aveda’s Damage Remedy Line uses all natural ingredients like pure plant oils and quinoa protein.

: This is an amazing product for dry and damaged hair from bleaching or heat. It will leave your hair feeling amazingly soft, smooth and shiny! The intensive restructuring treatment can be used after you wash your hair and leave it on for 3-5 minutes. Or while you’re in the shower cover your hair with the treatment and put on a shower mask and let it soak in. With the heat and steam in your shower, you give it a steam treatment.  Voila instantly ‘incredible and sexy’ hair.

CGD’s Celina: My most favourite hair masks are John Frieda’s Intensive Treatment (which is very affordable and sold at every drugstore) and Joico K-Pak. Which is really good for weak and damaged hair because it builds up the outer layers. It’s my holy grail! In terms of special treatments, natural hair oils are the best. When I feel my hair is all dry from all the heat and needs some extra care. I love to cover my hair in Jojoba and Coconut oil before bed and leave it in over the night. My hair feels silky smooth and soft afterwards. Also once every 3 months  I love to do a Brazilian Keratin Treatment.

For curly & relaxed hair: CGD’s Lois tells us, “ For girls with relaxed or curly hair a treatment with avocado, coconut oil and 1 egg will do wonders for your hair, so soft and shiny’. The Moroccan Oil Hair Mask is a favourite across girls with curly hair and the smell is amazing.

For coloured hair: CGD’s Beth tells us, ‘I use a purple mask to get the yellow out of my blonde hair’. Described as the ‘Rolls Royce of hair’ Christophe Robin’s mask is worth mentioning. The Shade Variation Care mask is an understatement! With my clean hair at the ready, I apply this very purple mask to my hair! Being paraben, silicone, oxidants and ammonia free its a nice change! Christophe advises to leave the mask on for 5 minutes to 1 hour depending on the intensity of the colour you desire.

Never tried any of these, normally just stick to coconut oil and that seems to nourish my hair and scalp. Although I’ve heard loads about Moroccan oil
