This Morning Routine Will Help You Have A Positive Weekend

The weekend is almost here! Yes, it’s time to de-stress, relax, and give yourself a little headspace before you return, ready to smash next week. Weekends are sacred, successful women use their weekends to spend time on what they love, to give themselves space for hobbies, but they never waste a weekend.

One weekend in four should be spent in your PJ’s watching Netflix, but if you want to have a positive and healthy weekend you need to get your head in the game, wake up early and get ready to squeeze the most out of your days off. Trust us, you’ll feel refreshed and ready to take on October if you just take the time to give back to yourself!

It’s so easy to get your head in a space and believe that you should spend the weekend doing nothing, but the opposite is true. If you want a healthy and happy life, you need to break your own perceptions of a good weekend, put your best foot forward, stop snoozing the alarm, get up and go. You need to push yourself out of your comfort zone, try new things, get ahead of the day and make every moment matter. So, if you’re ready to get ahead follow these steps and let us know how you set yourself up for a successful weekend…

07:00 – 09:00 AM

Set your alarm super early

I know it seems counterproductive to wake up early on a weekend, but chances are that you’ll be getting a mini lie in anyway if you wake up closer to nine. Keep your brain in the right mindset and treat your Saturday morning as if it was any other day. By getting up early you’re giving yourself a chance to get ahead and make the best of the day.

Anna Wintour gets up at 5 am to play tennis, come rain or shine, come Monday or Sunday. This routine is sacred for her, it helps her stay active, keep her body on track and teaches her brain to stick to a routine. Your body clock determines how your body is in sync with life itself. If you change that, you will change the pace of your weekend, will encourage you to waste time and will let you spend another weekend without doing anything.

09:00 – 10:00 AM

Workout first, everything else second

Get up, and workout. Don’t eat your breakfast, don’t laze around (although you can do that on Sunday), get up lace up your sneakers and go for a 30-minute blast. Working out in the morning, especially on the weekends, will help you get your energy levels back. It’ll give you a hugely positive outlook for the weekend and make you more likely to go out and do things.

Following your workout, make sure to choose a breakfast that nourishes you rather than one of convenience. Protein, fiber, and whole grains added together will create a breakfast that will not only energize you but will help keep your mind sharp throughout the day – just what you need if you’re planning on working on yourself.

10:00 – 10:30 AM

Make a plan for the day

Whoever said weekends shouldn’t be planner out was wrong. A plan for your day will help you stay on track. It’ll remind you to use every minute, whether you want to call your best friend and have a catch-up or you just really need to keep track of how much water you’ve been drinking. Make a plan for the day, it doesn’t have to be super detailed, you’re allowed to be spontaneous on the weekend. But it should include key points, things you can’t afford to forget and let you track your own progress.

Self-improvement is so important, which is why the Getting Stuff Done planner really is your best friend on the weekends, you can track your meals and water intake and also track your exercise as well as your daily plan and personal notes. We designed it to be the perfect planner to accompany a busy lifestyle.

10:30 – 11:30 AM

Smash your goals

Whether it’s a hobby that never gets any time, a side business you’ve wanted to create or just some work you need to get finished before next week, the perfect time to do it is in the morning, following a workout when your mind and body is full of energy. Once it’s out of the way, you’ve got the rest of the weekend to unwind, chill, and relax. That way you’re more productive and can get ahead.

The morning is the best time for all those tasks you’ve been putting off, because you’re fresh, you’re full of energy and you’re ready to get stuff done. Plus, you’re not demotivated because you’ve wasted the whole day, it’s ahead of you, you can get stuff done and enjoy your weekend too!
