My Ultimate Morning Routine: Part 1

Your morning routine is the best part of the day. A new day means new opportunities. How are the CGD girls preparing for a day at the office? Today we are taking you behind the scenes. Celina is going to tell you more about her morning routine before she goes to the CGD HQ.

07:00: Time to wake up
I try to wake up every morning at 7 am and drink at least 2 glasses of water. After 8 hours of sleep, my body needs some hydration. Next I check my emails, WhatsApp messages, and social media. I need to know what happened in the world while I was asleep. Next I go to YouTube and watch a vlog of my favorite YouTuber while I slowly wake up.

07.30: Shower time
I make up my bed, put some clothes in the washing machine, open my windows and jump in the shower. A shower is essential in the morning. It gives me a clean, fresh feeling, which I really need!

07.45: Closet time
After my shower, I choose an outfit of the day. For my office look, I always try to go for something comfortable yet classy. It depends on my mood, when I feel lazy I’ll wear a black skinny jeans with a blouse and loafers. When I’m in a good mood I will wear something colourful, maybe a dress or a skirt and I’ll go crazy with accessories.

08.00: Makeup time
I go the kitchen and make a cup of tea and grab some fruit. I love green tea in the morning and during the weekend I drink Bootea Detox tea. Next, I walk to my makeup table and get my makeup done. I wish I was able to go outside without makeup on, but when you’re used to applying makeup every day you just can’t life without it. Lately, I’m so inspired by the ‘Parisian’ no makeup look. It’s the look I’m going for during the week. Healthy looking,  glowy skin without it being too obvious that you’re actually wearing tons of makeup. What I use to achieve this look is the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer. You only need one drop and it gives you a healthy glow,

Next I’ll use MAC Strobe Cream . I look so much better after only using these two products. One product I really can’t live without is concealer! I have different concealers from cheap till expensive, but my favourite is this one from Maybelline. It’s amazing. Next I’ll use a blush from MAC, bronzer and highlighter Soft & Gentle from MAC! I set my foundation with a setting powder from Laura Mercier. I apply some eyeshadow from the Naked Palette. Not too much,  just two natural colours, eyeliner, I fill in my eyebrows, some lipstick and I’m done! Last but not least my favourite perfume.

08:15: Hair
I do not like to spend a lot of time on my hair in the morning because I just don’t have time. I prefer to wash my hair twice a week with a mild shampoo, conditioner, and a hair mask every time I wash it. My hair is very dry and naturally curly so I really need some intensive moisture to keep it healthy.  I wash and blow dry my hair and straighten it. I use John Frieda’s Keratin spray and a heat protectant to prevent heat damage. I’ll wear it straight the first day but because I love a wavy look for my hair, I’ll wear a headband at night, and when I wake up all I have to do is brush it through, add some serum and hairspray.

08:30 Breakfast time
I’m the worst when it comes to breakfast. I try to eat healthy and have breakfast each morning. Unfortunately, most of the times I’ll end up going to Starbucks or Pret A Manger. The times I actually do have the time to have breakfast, I love to make scrambled eggs with toast or a super smoothie. Which I will tell more about later. Oh and I take some Vitamine D in the morning.

09:00 Time to work!

  1. Sounds like the perfect morning! I wish I could get my but out of bed at 7am. My day doesn’t typically begin until sometime between 9 and 10. But it works for me!

  2. So my kick ups: I prefer to write a todo-list, that helps me to focus on the important things, and I love to do breath meditation, but just 13 minutes! That enough and give you a lot of inner quiet and inner energy for rocking the day!

    PS. My morning routine looks like of Celine! :-) <3 so but I really prefer coffee instead of green tea in the morning! ;-) but actually adore green tea at the afternoon

  3. Mine looks almost exactly the same! The day needs to begin with some Instagram and Youtube, followed by breakfast and green tea immediately after for me. Without food, I am a complete and utter zombie! (nearly cut my thumb off this week when I decided to do some early morning cooking)

  4. I wish mine was this good! Usually I get up at 6:30, go for a 30 minute jog and then aspire to be productive, but end up back in bed until 8:45, before making a mad dash to get ready to leave by 9:20.

  5. Sounds like the perfect morning. Some of my morning rituals are to drink a hot cup of water with freshly squeezed lemon & some honey, meditating for 5-10 minutes with my Headspace app, taking a nice, warm shower, and letting fresh air in.

  6. Oh, how I envy you… your mornings sound so glamourous and remind me of The Devil Wears Prada.

    I have a very run-of-the-mill office job, I start work at 8 and I have two kids to get to childcare/school, so my mornings are more: hit snooze button as many times as I can until I’m running late, drag kids out of bed and into clothes, scrape back hair and slap on enough makeup to look like a living-person and then stumble out of door, probably forgetting something important, like my handbag.

    I really need a morning routine….
