We all have these days when you’re just staring at your computer and somehow you just can’t get it going. Unfortunately, we can’t just go home and leave it for the day. Here are my personal tricks and tips that help me be more productive during those moments
1. Classical Music
Yeah. this one sounds a bit strange, but it helps me become more focused. I used to listen to pop charts on Spotify, but a couple of weeks ago I discovered the ‘Focus’ playlists on Spotify and they are amazing. They’re so relaxing and help you to get things done!
2. A Cup Of Tea
At 14.00/15.00 I always find myself a bit chilly. Somehow, preparing myself a cup of green tea gives me that little extra comfort to get things going and finish the last hours.
3. Create a to-do list and add time
Yeah I know, we’ve been talking a lot about to-do lists on CGD. But you know what, you can make the prettiest to-do lists, with washi tape or whatever, but actually timing yourself is what makes the difference.
4. Start with the most important task at the beginning of the day
In the morning, you’re more energetic so you should start with the more difficult task; so start with that task you’d usually postpone until the end of the day when you’re too tired to actually do it.
5. Get enough sleep
I go to bed every day at 11pm sharp (weekends not included). Why? Because we need at least 8 hours of sleep to become the best version of ourselves.
6. Workout before going to the office
Trust me, it’s a rewarding feeling to have some exercise done at the beginning of the morning. And yeah, there are days when you just don’t want to go to the gym or for a run. But just go, you will feel so much more energetic after your workout, which will help you to be more productive.
7. Give yourself time to relax and unwind
This can be a relaxing bath after work, yoga classes, a good read or cooking. It’s important to allow yourself to relax and unwind after a busy day.
