Time saving tools for girls on the go

When you’re planning for your future career there are far too many avenues to take and socialising can sometimes be put on the back burner, nevermind how difficult it can be to organise everything you’ve got to do. I for one have too many notepads and diaries that I never even look at, so I think it’s about time for an organisation overhaul. Laptops and phones have tonnes of neat features that can save you time in your work life, help you plan your week better and leave you with more time to actually see your friends, so here’s a list of our favourite time saving tools for girls on the go!

Wunderlist
Wunderlist is a productivity app that encourages you to tick off items on your list, but it is also so much more than that. With the newest update introducing folders you can now organise the things you want to get done into categories, share with coworkers, friends or family and make lists of anything that you want, from your shopping essentials to things to do before you die, and it’s available on every device imaginable!

Google Docs
An essential tool for any busy girl, in Google Docs you can create spreadsheets, calendars and documents and edit things that have been shared with you. It’s a great tool for managing your tasks and time, whether you use it for editorial calendars or drafts of your novel, and thanks to Google Drive you can keep your work with you when you’re on the go!

Pocket
Pocket is a clever little program that helps you save interesting articles and bits from all over the internet so you can read them later when you have more time. There’s countless ways to use it, from sending an email to your app with the links you want to save to clicking the pocket button that you can install on your search bar, and it’s a must-have for all of us who are easily distracted by the internet, just save it for later girls!

Evernote
Evernote is great for taking notes, keeping pictures and starting projects that you can keep with you on any device. Whether you’re doing some serious research or just collecting inspiration for your vision board, Evernote is an indispensable tool for collecting all your notes, links, pictures and ideas.

IFTTT
IFTTT (IF THIS THEN THAT) is an insanely intelligent tool that puts the internet to work for you. It works on the basis of ‘recipes’ based on if x then y, so for example ‘if someone tags me in a photo on Facebook, save that photo to my Dropbox account.’ It’s an invaluable time saver, and there are hundreds of ‘recipes’ you can use to put things to work for you automatically, browse the recipes section to get an example of what you can do.

Circa News
Circa News is a personalised news feed where you can customise the stories you want to see, it’s great if you want to keep up to date with the latest stories but don’t have the time to browse for them. You can browse categories to make Circa your own personalised digital newspaper that you’ll never want to put down, perfect for reading during your commute!

Swiftkey
Swiftkey is perfect for fast typers who despair with autocorrect, I mean is ‘ducking’ even a word? Swiftkey is a keyboard upgrade for Android and Iphone that learns your typing habits and allows you to type in seamless motions for faster typing, it won’t suggest words you haven’t used and it even learns what emojis you use and suggests them in the appropriate places! Genius!

Snowball
Snowball is only available on Android operating systems, but that doesn’t mean we’re not excited about the idea. Snowball is a tool for syncing all your contacts across every social media platform, including Snapchat, into one place. That means you won’t have to open Whatsapp, Facebook messenger, Snapchat and whatever other messaging services you use separately to message people, and is pretty exciting – hopefully it’ll be available on iOS too!

1Password
1Password is amazing for anyone who has trouble with passwords and is worried about security. I am constantly forgetting all my passwords and know tonnes of people who leave their private information in their phone’s notepad (which is so bad) so 1Password is a real life saver. As well as storing all your sensitive information securely, it can also generate strong passwords and you can securely share your information with trusted others. It’s available on every device and can be used to quickly log in to sites with one click!
