My Beauty Routine When I Am On Holiday

About a week ago, I went to Ibiza with the girls. I was super excited and spent a lot of time putting together the perfect holiday wardrobe. From finding the perfect beach dresses, bathing suits and sandals to getting in shape. This was going to be such a fun holiday and I was really looking forward to spending some time with the girls in Ibiza.

Getting ready….

When I go on holiday, I always save my beauty essentials as the last thing to pack. My trick is to get ready in the morning, and everything I use goes into a special beauty bag. That way, I am sure I don’t bring things with me that I don’t need.

1. Protect your skin

A moisturizer with SPF 50 can’t miss in my beauty bag. It protects your skin against premature aging and I just love to take good care of my skin and prevent pigmentation spots. I get a facial every month and my beautician recommended me to use at least SPF 50 on my face and body from 12.00-15.00 as the sun is at its strongest during these hours.

This holiday, I was seriously impressed with La Roche Posay’s tinted moisturizer SPF 50.  I tried it for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised. It’s amazing!

I brought my Giorgio Armani foundation with me but was quite unsure it would match my skin tone after a few days in the sun and wanted to prevent a makeup fail (pale face + dark body).  So I decided to just replace my foundation for a tinted moisturizer that adjusts to my skin tone, protects my skin, and gives me a bit of coverage where needed.

For the rest of my body I used Avene’s Sunscreen SPF 50 and for my hair, I used Phyto’s hair sunscreen.

2. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize

When I spend most of my day in the sun, I like to moisturize my skin as often as possible. After a long day on the beach, I love to take a nice luke warm shower. In Ibiza, I picked up Avene’s shower cream for sensitive skin and it was mild enough to take care of my sensitive tanned skin. After my shower, I love to apply a thick layer of a moisturizing face mask on my skin. I brought Caudalie’s moisturizing face mask with me and absolutely loved it. One day after an evening of clubbing I applied it on my skin and fell asleep with it. I woke up the next day with soft and moisturized skin. On my lips, I applied a Nuxe lip balm.

3. Create a makeup look and stick to it

My trick this holiday was to create a simple makeup look and stick to it. During the day my makeup was minimal. A bit of mascara, lip balm, and some eyebrow gel.  When we went for dinner or drinks I spent a bit more time on my makeup. I wanted a healthy, dewy look during the evening and used colors that complimented my skin tone. In my case orange and golden tones.

One product that was an absolute winner was the Charlotte Tilbury highlighter.  It is seriously the best highlighter I’ve ever tried,  super pigmented and just the perfect shade. I combined it with Stila’s Beauty Balm and combined it’s a winning team.
