Victoria Beckham is goals. She’s a career-driven woman, with great style, amazing skin, she nourishes herself properly and takes care of herself and has an amazing family.
How? She shared her secrets and rules to live by with Net-A-Porter, which gives us some insight into how she appears to have it all.
The most important thing is to streamline your diet. Make sure you’re eating the right foods for your body and your skin. Victoria didn’t know the importance of her diet when she was younger but now she swears by a completely healthy lifestyle. She also eats salmon every day, as per the advice of her nutritionist.
“I don’t think you realize how important [a healthy lifestyle is] until you get older. You realize how vital it is to wear sunscreen; to drink lots of water; to cleanse, tone, moisturize; take vitamins; make sure you’re eating the right food. I eat lots of good fats, in avocados, nuts, seeds, salmon…”
In terms of keeping her skin healthy, every girl should treat themselves from time to time.
“The best facial I’ve ever had was by Sarah Chapman. I love using her moisturizer, especially on planes, and her Overnight Facial – my skin really drinks it up. I also love Estée Lauder’s new Powerfoil masks and La Mer’s Eye Concentrate and Renewal Oil.”
For dewy, glowy, skin, Victoria uses a sell-out from her own range with Estée Lauder. She needed something she could use after eleven-hour flights, and city breaks, and being swarmed by paparazzi. She has the lifestyle of many successful Career Girls, plus a lot of stressful extras (the fame side!) so she needed to create a range that could cater to that.
“Underneath my makeup I use Morning Aura Illuminating Crème from my new range. It’s a primer that also acts as a moisturizer and gives you a really fresh glow. Sometimes I put it on top of my makeup as well – I put my foundation on, then I take the product in my hands and pat it over my face for a dewy, youthful look.”
Finally, in terms of attitude and personal growth, Victoria thinks it’s better to power your own success and happiness than to rely on others to make you feel good about yourself.
“I think you have to [empower] yourself, rather than rely on other people to do that. It’s great to get a compliment from your husband, or your kids, or another woman, but you also have to make yourself feel good,”
