A new month is upon us, and if you need a little boost of motivation to keep you going, it’s never too late to smash your goals. The beginning of a new month is the perfect time to take stock of what went well for you and what you should improve on. You simply need to take some time to sit down with your goals, dreams, and visions for the next month.
You just need to grab your planner and start writing down the things you want for the next month, and the plans you’re going to make to get them. Grab the Getting Stuff Done planner and get ready to make this month count.

When you’re planning the month ahead, you really need to look at the month you’ve just completed. It’s all about reflection, thinking about what you’ve achieved, what you aimed for, and what you need to improve on. When reflecting on the past month, you should ask yourself the following questions:
- Where did I spend most of my time, money, and energy this past year?
- Where did I spend most of my time, money, and energy this past month?
- What surprising thing happened last month?
- What did I accomplish last month?
- What do I need to improve next month?
You need to think about the things you want to continue doing and the things you want to let go of for the next month. This is the only way you’re going to make this month count.

Before you move on to the planning activities, you want to do something physical to shake yourself out of the reflecting you’ve just done (you don’t want to get stuck). You can start by cleaning and decluttering, this is a transformative process that feels as good mentally as it does physically. You can start to de-clutter your desk, organize your files, or just get rid of the clutter. Remember that the things that do not spark joy can go, there’s nothing keeping them there. Also, you should try to step up your exercise when you can. This is where the Fit Is The Sh*t planner comes in, by tracking your current exercising efforts, you can step them up to the next level and become your best self in no time.

Start by writing out all the goals you want to achieve in one brainstorming session. Get everything on paper that you want to accomplish this month, every big or small thing that you’ve promised yourself. Then have a look at your priorities or the themes of your goals. Is there something that ties all your goals together? You can’t focus on every single goal, instead, you should pick one or two that you know you can achieve in four weeks time. And stick to them!

You need to create your ideal day and then, live it. If you want to get this month off on the right foot, you need to decide what you want to make time for every day and then, do it. What’s your ideal work day? What do you do when you get home? Do you prepare lunch instead of ordering? All these little things are pointing you in the right direction. The self-care section of the Getting Stuff Done planner will help you stay on track with your ideal day and look after yourself, no matter how busy it gets. Once you decide how you’re going to live your best day and live with intention, you need to put it into practice and push yourself to be the very best version of yourself that you can possibly be.

If you don’t plan it, don’t expect it to happen. In other words, you’re going to need to plan it chunk by chunk and know exactly how you’re going to make it work. You need to write it down in your planner, or schedule it in your weekly desk pad. Give yourself dates and deadlines, so you know what you’re working towards. Get your head down, and get it done. Use a system that works for you, whether you tick it off as and when you finish it, cross it out, or simply bullet journal it. You need to be productive, expect it to happen if it’s written down, and make it happen.
