Morning routines are important, after all, they set the tone for the day. We know how to wake up happy, and we know to remember that perfect is the enemy of good. Do things well, and don’t expect perfection. If your morning routine still involves a pre-coffee induced haze and bed hair, that’s fine too.
But as the season changes, it’s important to know what your body needs and find a way to give yourself the space you need. Every successful woman has built a routine in the morning, this is because your day begins the minute you wake up, and it’s important to feel your best. Treating yourself right will have a huge impact on everything you do, which is why you should want to set the alarm a little bit earlier and find out how these successful women live their lives before 9 AM.
1. Nourish their body
Lilly Simpson is the founder of The Detox Kitchen, so she knows a thing or two about how to feed yourself before 9 AM. In her blog, Lilly shared exactly what she eats in a day, and even before 9 AM she makes sure to have a filling, nourishing breakfast. Lilly starts the day with a black tea and avocado on mixed seed bread. This is usually around 7 AM. At around 8 AM she will have a peppermint tea, and again at around nine followed by a slice of banana bread.
One thing that’s surprising is to find out that Lilly eats little and often, and also drinks a lot of tea. This aids digestion, helps you drink enough water, and can moderate your appetite if you find yourself peckish before 9 AM. To have a successful day, try eating a few small healthy meals and combine it with black or peppermint tea. Not only will you feel energized early on, but you’ll feel healthy, awake, alert, and ready to have a successful day by boosting your brain.

3. Take a moment for themselves
Isabel Marant is a super successful fashion designer, the pressure is always on to have a successful day, but to quiet her mind and get ready for the day ahead, Marant will go to a nearby pool and swim laps. She told Harpers Bazaar, “I need this to breathe and to handle my stressful days.” Not only is this good exercise for her body and mind, swimming laps allows Isabel to have a moment of meditation, to think things through and make better decisions.
Why not try to squeeze in a session at the pool at least once a week and see the difference it could make to your life. This morning routine is definitely one we can get behind. After swimming laps in the pool, Isabel will have a coffee and head to work with fresh ideas and inspiration.
