My plan for the day changes every minute. I might plan a day at the office and then have to change it last-minute to a lunch meeting, or a collaboration partner might want to check in with me. I always have to be ready, which means I really need to create structure in my life.
It’s a lot of work and I get stressed if I think about everything in one go and don’t have somewhere to write everything down.
The first thing I do in the morning is meditate and set my intention for the day. After that, I work out at the gym or do a short yoga session at home. This morning routine combined with my work strategy helps me structure my day.
Usually, while I eat my breakfast I check my emails, my blog, and all the comments on my posts. I get so many nice comments from my followers, it always makes my day.
I always keep things that motivate me on my desk, like quotes and positive sayings around to remind me to do my best.
I swear by my notepads since I love to write everything that pops into my head down. And I wouldn’t make it through the week without my calendar.
No day is the same for me, my job is so varied. At my desk, I usually sit down and check my emails, edit my photos for upcoming blog posts, answer calls from my partners and get my to-do list done. I also have a podcast that takes some planning, so it’s important that my desk helps me be productive.
I use multiple to-do lists, where I write down all my thoughts. I have a few different notebooks for this, I also try to have fresh flowers at my desk every day. Flowers make me happy and bring in so much energy and inspiration.
In Sweden, the sun sets right after lunch. So I also have a candle on my desk to bring in those cozy feelings when I’m working late. Not everyone shares my enthusiasm about desk candles, but I also have a coffee mug and a hot water bottle.
