Meet The Women Behind Your Favorite Apps

‘We’re fully taking over this male dominated industry and loving it!’

We all know who run the world (girls!) but did you know that some of your favourite apps were also created by women? We’re fully taking over this male dominated industry and I’m loving it! Check this out for inspiration!

Bumble

It’s been dubbed the most popular dating app and it was created by badass Whitney Wolfe – who also co-founded Tinder. Bumble puts the dating power into the hands of the female by allowing the women to start the conversation. “I wanted to do something that would promote a responsible user online,” Wolfe told Business Insider this year. We completely get where you’re going with that girl.

Cast Beauty

Sian Morson Kollective South Mobile

When your favourite hair or skin product stops working whilst you’re on holiday, you need Cast Beauty in your life! Founder Sian Morson has created an app that uses weather data to make product recommendations for all hair and skin types – whatever the weather.

Hey! VINA

Finally, an app that helps you to make new friends (not that I’ve ever needed to). Whether you’re looking for a new job or a place to live, Hey! VINA empowers you to tap into your extended network and connect with women who can potentially change your life! “Through our adult lives we go a lot of places that our existing friendships don’t always support and it becomes time to expand our circles,” co-founder Olivia June Poole told HNGN.

bSafe

bSafe was founded by mother of three Silje Vallestad when she realised that there were no custom mobile solutions that served her needs as a parent. The really cool thing about bSafe is that it works for grown adults too! It provides a GPS tracking device, an SOS button – and even a fake phone call for when you’re desperate to get out of a conversation!

Sweat with Kayla

kayla_itsines_app

Kayla Itsines completely gets that you need some motivation to reach your body goals, so she created an app that connects female fitness enthusiasts from around the globe. The app allows you to choose mini workout sessions, track your success, customise your diet and receive weekly coaching for the best results!

We’ve been nominated for the Best Lifestyle Blog award in the Bloglovin’ Awards 2016! We really couldn’t do it without you all! If you’d like to vote for us this year, click here!
