5 Workout Apps To Help You Easily Achieve Your Goals

Whether you’re already a gym bunny, or you’re planning on becoming one, I’m sure most of you have a fitness goal in mind. From a flatter stomach or running a marathon to maybe getting yourself to the gym three times a week, there’s a whole bunch of apps out there to help keep you motivated and make your fitness dreams come true.

Here are some of the best that I’ve found!

Workout Trainer

This awesome app offers users thousands of free workouts complete with timed step-by-step audio and video instructions to help you get into shape. From super routines to help you get your booty in shape to improving your stamina, I’m pretty sure you’ll find one that you’ll love. The best thing about this app is not just the variety, but you can also make your own custom routine and also try other users’ routines.

Johnson & Johnson Official 7 Minute Workout App

We’re all suckers for a short workout here at CGD. What’s not to love? Those days where you just have no time for a full gym sesh. You can do it before you leave work, during your lunch in the park, or at home!

The app guides users through the original 7-minute workout, as well as more advanced routines of varying duration and intensity, complete with short videos. A Smart Workout feature can function as your personal trainer.

Fitstar

Fitstar is like having your own personal trainer that knows you like the back of their hand, but without breaking the bank. Adapting its exercise routines to match your physical capability, this app carefully calibrates workouts to be challenging without being too difficult. Users can create their ideal exercise duration and workout goals, and the app will whip up a workout session for you. Once done, you can rate the difficulty of the workout, allowing the app to slowly learn and adapt to your workout capacity, challenging you without breaking your body!

Pocket Yoga

For all you yogis out there. Pocket Yoga comes with detailed voice and video instructions for hundreds of different poses, complete with write-ups on each one’s proper execution (so you don’t end up breaking your thigh bone doing the downward dog pose like that guy on the news last year) and health benefits. Users can choose between three practices and three durations. Then the app logs your exercises and progress for future reference.

Nike+ Running

The Nike+ Running app tracks your runs and helps you reach your goals – whether it’s running your first race, or setting a new personal record. From first-time runners to marathon veterans, you’ll get the measurement and motivation you need to run farther and faster than ever before! I love this app because you can see at the end the route that you’ve run and share it with your friends on Facebook. I hate running so even if I only managed to run a short distance it was an achievement!

Calorie Counter by MyFitnessPal

Did you know that weight loss is about 90% down to a good diet? There’s no point slogging it at the gym and then binging on pizza and ice-cream afterward! I’m not saying you can’t eat ice-cream ever again, you should ideally aim for an 80% healthy and a 20% treat yourself balanced diet! Yay cake!

MyFitnessPal’s Calorie Counter app helps you out on that front, functioning as an easy to use calorie and nutrients counter with a database that boasts more than 6 million foods (and it’s growing every day). Easily look up and track the foods you’re consuming with the help of a barcode scanner as well as a recipe calculator for inputting custom creations.
